Dr. Melissa Zermit Namchu (PhD) is an independent researcher currently working as a research assistant to Professor Sarah Besky of Cornell University. Her academic background includes training at the National University of Singapore and the University of Edinburgh, where she pursued a joint doctoral program. Melissa also holds a degree in social work.
Her research interests encompass a range of topics, including the health practices of the Lepcha community from an anthropological perspective. In addition to her academic pursuits, she is engaged in creating literary material focused on the Lepcha culture. Melissa’s work is driven by a genuine passion for cultural exploration and understanding.
