about me
I’m Rummit Lepcha, from Lingthem, Dzongu, North Sikkim.
My name signifies Goddess (Rum-Mit), the meaning is quite big for me to take in😅
The part of me that I value and respect would be the curiosity in me to learn more about my surrounding environment and my community of course🌱
What is storytelling to me?
Storytelling for me is freedom, Freedom from the web of darkness within,
A Light, A light that shines upon these pent-up emotions,
Storytelling has become a part of me,
That has let me live, that has led me to let go, that teaches us to-
To share, to believe and to be proud of the tales you are born from and the stories you communicate to others.
What is sacred to me?
These beautiful trees are what I feel is sacred to me as I see them on my way to places of diverse.
I as a Lepcha
We go on living adapting to the modernization and unknown of our roots. Our roots are our reason of existence how can we detach from it, this session has led me reflect on it, to carry it forward.
