about me
Khamree, my name is Mayel Pandee Lepcha. I’m from Darjeeling.
The meaning of my name is “Princess of Hidden Paradise.” I am from the beautiful hill town of Darjeeling, which is surrounded by mountains and tea gardens.
Something I admire about myself is that I am creative and express my thoughts and feelings to drawings.
What is storytelling to me?
Storytelling, to me, means sharing ideas, emotions, and experiences in a way that connects people and gives meaning to information.
I as a Lepcha?
I as Lepcha sacred means something pure, special, and deeply respected it could be a place, a belief, a bond, or even a moment that feels holy and meaningful to the heart.
The tall snowy mountains in the background reflect the strength and calmness of nature, while the green forests symbolize life and growth. The clusters of houses within the greenery represent St. Paul School quarters, showing how people live in harmony with nature, surrounded and protected by it.
I study at Loreto Convent, Darjeeling, and I feel proud to be a part of my school. One of my favorite hobbies is drawing, as it allows me to express my imagination and love for nature.
I believe my name and my home reflect peace, beauty, and creativity, and I try to carry those qualities in everything I do.
