about me
Hello everyone, my name is Mangalkith Lepcha, but people here call me Mangal I am from Soreng, West Sikkim.
Actually I don’t know the meaning of my name but the word Mangal is derived from the Arabic words manqal meaning “protable” and originally referred to portable heaters used by Bedouin to warm tents during the cold desert evening.
I speak Lepcha, Nepali and English, I am proud to be a Lepcha, I love my culture,
I am a self-motivated and disciplined soul, always keen to up with skills myself by learning new things whenever I get a chance. In my free time I enjoy spending time with friends, sometimes cooking, listening to music, reading, traveling and playing outdoor sports.
“It gave me an opportunity to learn from another person’s experience.”

What is storytelling to me?
A story can shape, strengthen or challenge our opinions and values; it conveys not information but meaning of knowledge so it can be easier to pay attention to and to remember.
