about me
Hello and khamree mo everyone…I am Mangal Tshering Lepcha and I am from Soreng, Karthok, West Sikkim.
About the meaning of my name is that, in our village there was a system that when a new baby is born the villagers or parents kept the name according to the day that they were born… As I was born on Tuesday, so in Nepali language it’s “mongla bar” that is why my name exists as Mangal… But it also depicts two caste names as Mangal from Subba and Tshering from Lepcha as my mother is from the Subba community.
I think what I value or respect most in myself is that I am loyal towards my work, and never flatter my words… bout myself is that I haven’t given up on myself and I’m constantly looking to learn, unlearn, and grow out of my stumbling weaknesses.
What is storytelling to me?
We have to be authenticated while telling a story, it should not be self made and it also tells about our ancestors story… I want to explore more things about my lepcha community,Our oral story that has hidden in the depth of our village soil and as well as to connect my thinking capacity and thoughts to all the well educate personality.
