about me

Khamree everyone! This is Leeza Lepcha from Sittong, Kurseong.

My name “Leeza” basically refers to a person devoted to god and I am of that sort. “Leeza” is my official name, however, my pet name is “Lenchyo” which means love.

Amongst everything, I value my experience in my life and what I learn from it. I believe in staying positive in all difficult situations that alter one’s life and enjoying the present moment.

Nice to meet you all. I hope you all would actively show your participation in this journey.

What is storytelling to me?

By the term “storytelling” I could just get the idea of simply reciting the story orally. But now the workshop has broadened my thoughts about it. I have understood that one could share their stories through different mediums like painting, singing poetry, etc. Therefore it depends upon how we want to share it.

What is sacred to me?

I captured this view a few days ago before leaving for my college. This is the view from my balcony. It reminds me of my home and therefore it is sacred for me.

Finding my sacred place.

Good morning everyone! Let me take you to My Utopia my sacred place in nature which is surrounded by vast assortment of wildflowers and tranquil stream flowing among the rocks and the clear blue sky which is reason enough to uplift my spirit  and I call myself the child of nature.–

I as a Lepcha.

The workshop has helped me connect more with my ancestry. Each session was different from the other but they were interconnected. While discovering our own sacred space on the first session with Arundhati ma’am I could connect to my roots and my origin. I could visualize the story of our river God that I had heard a long time back from my grandparents.
