about me

I’m Karma Tshering Lepcha from Bijanbari, Darjeeling.

Karma is a word meaning the result of a person’s actions. It is a term about the cycle of cause and effect. And Tshering means long life.

What I value about myself is that I equally love and treat everyone.

“I learned a great deal about my ancestors and I would like to take it forward and enlighten my generation and the next generations about our history and keep the flame burning so we are not a forgotten tribe. We come from the lineage of one of the rulers of the earth.” Karma Tshering Lepcha

What is sacred to me?

Being Lepcha means a lot to me, my culture tradition is utmost important to me. Without it we are Lepcha just by our title. Being a Lepcha means that I am native to this land and we are the real landlord of this place.

This picture is taken from the village where I was born.

Finding my sacred place.

I as a Lepcha
